Mingo’s was recommended to a good friend of ours while he was in San Antonio, TX. We stopped by the restaurant Thursday evening to check it out. As we were walking in, we were greeted by the restaurant owner. He was very welcoming and excited to talk about Tacos de Lengua that he had been busy preparing all day.
We were seated and the waitress came over with menus and to get our drink orders. They have a nice drink menu, if you were interested in ordering a beer or nice cocktail. The three people at our table each ordered a different menu item, so we could all share. My husband had the burrito, our friend had the Tacos de Lengua and I had the Gringo Tacos.
The food was freshly prepared, had a good presentation and everything tasted great. The beef tacos were the best that I’ve had in the area. The burrito was full of ground beef, cheese, and rice. The Tacos de Lengua was tender and had a good flavor. All of our meals were served with a generous portion of beans and rice.
The meals cost between 8 and 12 euro and drinks varied from 4 to 8 euro. The guys had a beer, I had a mixed drink and we had a bottle of water. Then we each had a meal and for our party of three, the total was around 40 euro.
After our dinner was over, the owner came back to see how we liked the food. He was telling us about new menu items that they will be offering and was very open to suggestions that we had. He told us that if we ever had any special menu request to contact the restaurant and they would accommodate us in any way that they could. We will definitely be returning and will be excited to see the specials they will be offering.
