Create Wellness Chiropractic Clinic, Seoul

Create Wellness Chiropractic Center

After a long flight, lots of walking, child lugging, extra, extra firm beds, and more walking, I officially have Korean pretzel back.  Nerves are pinched.  Hips are clicking.  All over soreness plagues my days of market shopping.  I seriously didn’t know if I was going to make it another year in Korea without flying home solely to visit a chiropractor to get it fixed.  Imagine my jubilation when I found Create Wellness Chiropractic Center in Itaewon.  I would have jumped and clicked my heels together in glee if my spine didn’t feel like one of those loopy, silly straws.

The doctors are US trained and certified, native English speakers, and very thorough.  The desk staff is multi-lingual too, so booking an appointment on the phone isn’t super painful.  I could book an appointment next day, and I hear they do walk-ins if you’re willing to wait.  I saw Dr. Sean, who is very technical in his explanations but only because he really wants you to know what’s going with your body.  They use a drop table, which is important to know for the diehards out there.

I know that the population is split between the non-believers (the they’re-never-touching-my-neck crowd) and the devoted patients (the I-don’t-know-how-to-survive-without-a-little-snap-crackle-pop-in-my-life crowd), but the clinic is focused on total wellness, Asian fusion style.  Mix acupuncture and herbs with Pilates classes.  There’s also massage and physical therapy, even orthotics for feet and knees that can’t keep up with Korean walking.

The clinic was so friendly and easy to access that I wanted to book one of everything.  They work with foreign insurance—although TriCare does not normally cover chiropractic care—and have discounts for paying in bulk.  I paid less than ₩50,000 for my appointment and initial exam, which is good by US standards.  I’m not sure how it compares to other Korean clinics.  Finding chiropractors in Korea is not easy to do, and I wept for joy when there was one so easy to access and provided good, affordable care.
