A-ha! Stroopwafel

CONTRIBUTED BY SARAH FORTE

stroopwafel dutch cookie treat |www, germanyja.comStroopwafels come from the Netherlands. The literal translation is “syrup waffle,” a pretty fitting description. These flat, round treats have a layer of syrup, caramel or honey inside of two thin waffles. You can usually find them in any grocery store in Europe.

Here’s the a-ha moment – The stroopwafels are best when you place them on top of a steaming cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. Let it sit there a bit and then enjoy! The little bit of steam warms the waffle and the syrup. Everything becomes warm, soft and about 100% more tasty! Stop eating your stroopwafels cold!
