I recently had a fantastic lunch at a new restaurant on Ziyapasa Blvd. in Adana. It tends to get pretty busy around lunchtime, but we were able to find street parking two blocks from the restaurant fairly easily.
NOA serves delectable fare at affordable prices in one of the most distinctive parts of the city. There are dishes that are not only pleasing to the eye, but very tasty food to my tummy! The menu is well-crafted with contemporary Mediterranean/American standard cuisine.
NOA focuses on fresh local ingredients, homemade sauces & breads, and offers “organic” dishes when the chef is able to procure certified organic foods. The menu changes regularly, but they do have some dishes that are staples. I love to eat seafood, so whenever it is offered on the menu anywhere, I tend to order that. I had the organic grilled prawns spring salad with buckwheat noodles. The salad was packed with baby arugula, spinach & pickled julienne daikon & carrots (24TL).
My husband ordered the NOA sandwich with dill aioli mayo served with a spring mix side salad (17TL). Unfortunately the restaurant does not offer a kids menu. However, we did order our toddler adult size spaghetti bolognaise (20TL). We thought we would have leftovers to take home, but nope, she loved it so much she ate the whole bowl. She was in food heaven and so was I!
While we waited for our Turkish coffee and chai to arrive, my husband and I had the opportunity to chat with one of the chef/owners of the restaurant. We found out the restaurant was started by two friends who both went to culinary school. The chef we spoke with studied at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in New York City. These two chef owners launched this new restaurant in downtown Adana on January 15, 2015. Because the chef owner studied abroad at a prestigious culinary institute in the United States, the menu reflects global culinary influences.
What is most charming about this place is the vibe. It’s laid back, relaxed, and pleasant atmosphere. We received personal attention making our dining experience one we were very happy with. The restaurant style is urban rustic with classic wood dining tables, fabric couches, and a sleek bar area.
