If you’re looking for those hard to find Asian, Mediterranean, European or Middle Eastern ingredients and our base commissary does not carry it? Look no further: I came across this great little ethnic market in downtown Adana that has imported products you cannot find anywhere else in Adana’s local grocery stores. They have everything from European ingredients to Asian soybean sauce to Thai/Indian curries to rice stick noodles to for when you’re craving Vietnamese “Pho” soup and would like to make some at home! You name it and it’s likely they will have it.
In additional to having all the sauces and unique spices, they have a pretty good size deli section for pre-ordering deli meat and cheese platters for your next catering needs. They have a wide variety of imported cheeses, some wine choices and gourmet products, but it is a bit pricier than your normal Metro, Megros market, or our Asian/Ethnic food aisle at the commissary. For example, a package of rice stick noodles costs 8 TL, but if you’re looking for specific ingredients for making that special recipe, Serpa Market is the place to go. It is a lovely little market.
Serpa is wracked with specialty oils, vinegars, hot sauces, etc. Some of them are just fantastic products because I have purchased some of the products before back in the states, so I know first hand it is good quality stuff. Plus when you splurge for the good stuff it can really improve your culinary skills to impress your friends and family.
