My family and I were craving some good German food the other day and I remembered that a friend told me about Landhaus Biehl. So we decided to give it a try. Before I go on, I am German and am pretty hard to please when it comes to German cuisine since I have had so many great German dishes in my life.
It was pretty easy to find as it’s in the middle of the town Philippsheim, maybe a 15 minute drive from Spangdahlem Air Base. They have free parking right in front of the Restaurant, which by the way is also a hotel (more info on their website).
The owner, Dirk, greeted us at the entrance and walked us to our table. The restaurant is decorated in the traditional German Hunter Style. They have a wide selection of foods on their menu — something for everyone. They have steak, chicken, burgers, Schnitzel and more. No one will leave hungry.
My husband ordered a steak, my brother-in-law had a Jaeger Schnitzel, I got a chicken Schnitzel and my daughter ordered a sausage with french fries off of their children’s menu. I changed up my meal and ordered different sides than what was on the menu, which was no problem at all. Before the main course we had soup and a salad which were delicious.
I was pleasantly surprised that my daughter’s food came out quickly so she didn’t have to wait as long. Shortly after that we got our entrées. Our meals were presented very nicely and tasted absolutely delicious. I have nothing bad to say about any of the meals we ordered.
Dirk took amazing care of us. He played around with our daughter which she loved! He made sure we had everything we needed and his overall attitude was very inviting and friendly. He also speaks English pretty well so there shouldn’t be a language barrier.
The meals were decently priced and overall, we had a pleasant experience and will definitely go back. I recommend you make a reservation. (Menu is in German & English.)
