O’sulloc Tea House, Seoul

CONTRIBUTED BY ZOE V.

Insadong is a fabulous area of Seoul, popular both for its shopping and its tea houses. After several hours perusing boutique stores selling a range of beautiful and traditional Korean crafts and souvenirs, we decided to check out O’Sulloc Tea House.

There are plenty of traditional tea houses in the area hidden in tiny alleys whereas O’sulloc is on the main street and easy to spot. We ultimately decided to go here after hearing they serve the famous green tea from jeju-do.

The first floor sells different varieties of tea and on occasion offer free samples. The second and third floors are where the cafe can be found. They have a vast menu of green tea drinks and snacks but also offer other teas if green tea isn’t your thing. The prices are slightly higher than other tea shops in the area but the quality is outstanding so I was happy to pay the slight extra.

Some of my favorite items are:

Every Green tea on the menu!
Scones with green tea milk spread
Green tea ice cream
Green tea bingsu
Apple honey milk tea
Green tea latte
Green tea tiramisu

I love your postings and often visit your recommended spots. Directions to and a photo of the front of the place would be most helpful. Thanks.
