Photo of the Week: Thallichtenberg

CONTRIBUTED BY MOLLY CASSON

German fall autumn | www.germanyja.com

Our photo of the week was taken at Burg Lichtenberg of the village of  Thallichtenberg. The first people known to live in this area were from the stone age, later the Romans took up residence. The nearby castle was first built in 1200 and this nearby village has survived though wars and dueling rulers. Its 600 or so residents have a lovely view of the castle, which today holds a museum and restaurant.

Note: This is the newest photograph in our Photo of the Week category on Germany Ja! Do you have a picture that says “This is Germany” and want to share it with us? It can be a place, a person, a plate of food… whatever says “Germany” to you. We don’t need a lot of words to go with it, because a picture is worth… well, you know! If you have a picture to share, send it to submissions @germanyja.com. Danke!
